PRIMARY SABBATH LESSONS
LESSON 6
Abraham and Lot
Abraham was a good man. He loved Yahweh
very much and did as Yahweh asked him to do.
Yahweh told him that He would make his
children a great nation and bless them and make their name great.
Abraham was very rich. He had a lot of
gold and silver and cattle and sheep.

One day when Abraham was on a high
mountain Yahweh spoke to him and told him that all the land he could see in
every direction would belong to his family and his family would become a great
nation.
Yahweh told Abraham that if he could
count the stars in the sky on a dark night that would be how big his family
would be.
|
TRY THIS!
On a clear night, after the stars come out, ask your Mom or Dad to
take you outside so you can count the stars. Can you imagine having
as many people in your family as there are stars in the sky? How
many did you count?

Abraham had a wife named Sarah. They
were both very old; too old to have children. When Yahweh said Sarah would have
a son, she just laughed.
Sarah did have a son and they called him Isaac.
Abraham’s brother had a son called Lot.
After Abraham’s brother died, Lot lived with Abraham and Abraham loved him like
his own son.
When Lot grew up, he lived near two
cities called “Sodom and Gomorrah.” The people in these cities were very bad.
Yahweh told Abraham that He was going to
destroy these cities. If Abraham didn’t want Lot killed, he had to get Lot and
his family out.

Abraham asked Yahweh, “If you find fifty
good people in the city, would you still destroy it?”
Yahweh said, “If I find just ten good
people there I will not destroy it.”
There were not even ten good people in the whole city so Lot was told to leave
the city quickly and not look back. Lot’s wife didn’t want to leave and she
looked back as they were leaving. When she did that, she turned into a pillar of
salt!
The next day Abraham looked down at the cities and saw Sodom and Gomorrah
smoking like a huge furnace. The cities and all the bad people were burned up.
Memory Verse
"Do not be afraid, Abram.
I am your shield,
your very great reward."
