Joseph had ten older brothers. His brothers knew that their father loved Joseph more than them. Joseph’s brothers did not like him because of this. They were jealous.
One day Joseph’s brothers were out in the field taking care of the sheep. Joseph went out to get them. When Joseph came to them they threw him into a deep hole in the field. It was so deep that he could not get out.
His brothers took his coat and put some lamb’s blood on it to make their father think Joseph was dead. When Jacob heard that his son was dead, he was very sad.
